SOUTH EAST COAST AMBULANCE

Project

South East Coast Ambulance

Date:

May 2017

In May 2017, South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation
Trust (SECAmb) moved to their new HQ in Crawley, combining their
Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) into one, fit-for purpose building.
Vega Europe were asked to advise on a digital signage solution to
cover the EOC. Information had to be displayed on screens which was
visible to all staff throughout, as well as the capability to function 24/7.

The key required elements included the ability to display different
sources of information as well as live call queue performance, the
Trusts internal 999 performance stats, BBC news channels (with
subtitles) and a scrolling ticker tape accessing local weather and news
feeds. It was also important that the system was capable of integrating
with the fire alarm system to provide a visible warning onto the screens
throughout the centre.

The number of performance screens and content types could change
in coming years, therefore the need to ensure the system was scalable
to expand easily was a key factor.
